Extreme dedication, focus, hard work and passion describe my work ethic perfectly.

I love what I create, so it's easy for me to stay motivated. 

 

The eagerness to learn is what made me earn 3 bachelors in the arts. And if money wasn't an issue, I'd study for the rest of my life.  

 

Interior design was the first degree I acquired. I loved making models and developed a personal style which could be described as colourful, childlike, detailed and polished.

My method for making models/miniatures contains 4 steps: 

• A very rough sketch

• Creating an origami/3D model design

• Laser cutting

• Assembling (with lots of superglue and tweezers)

 

This love for modelmaking led me to an amazing internship in Amsterdam, in the stop-motion studio '5 A.M. Studios'. I made props and helped with set design. 

After this internship I got my teaching degree.

 

Yet my interest in stop-motion set design and prop making only grew, so I decided to apply for the admission test in Audiovisual Arts - Animation. To my surprise, I got in. 

At the start my complete lack of knowledge about animation made me question my decision to enrol more then once. However dedication, focus, hard work and love for what I do made me pretty good at digital 2D animation. 

 

My latest film, “The Forest is on Fire”, got selected at multiple film festivals:

My style in my drawings, movies and models has a contradictory description. 

It's childlike, consists of simple shapes and is mostly comprised of a solid colour, I rarely add shadows. Yet it is also very detailed and sophisticated. The combination of the simplicity of the shapes, colours and the unusual amount of detail makes for a distinct, clear look.

 

During the Animation course I was an intern at the Belgian production company Woestijnvis, where I learnt a lot, and even convinced some amazing actors, screenwriters and a composer to help me with my bachelor film. For which I am very grateful! I interned and later worked as a production-assistant.

 

At Woestijnvis my interest in the TV sector developed; after acquiring my bachelor degree in animation I started as Projectmanager on the show: Mister Paper.

Mister Paper, a children’s stop-motion series, combined my love for animation, TV and modelmaking. I acquired a lot of new skills in management, teamwork and production! The team was amazing, the days were fun, and the deadlines reached.  It was truly the best, first job someone could want.
